SVR
Shock & Vibration Reducer
Shock and vibration reducer for the BHA. Wear-resistant composite sleeves stay stationary against the wall; the sub rotates inside.
Operating effect
75–80% torque reduction in the install zone. Cuts Stick-Slip and shock/vibration loads on the BHA.
Stationary composite sleeves
Wear-resistant composite sleeves are pressed against the wellbore wall and don't rotate. The non-magnetic steel sub rotates inside the sleeve — at the contact zone, friction shifts from steel-on-steel to steel-on-composite.
Vibration damping
Composite sleeves damp torsional, axial, and lateral shocks. They cut vibration transfer from the formation through the BHA up to surface equipment.
Non-magnetic steel
The sub body is non-magnetic steel — compatible with MWD/LWD. No magnetic distortion to inclinometer readings.

When to use
- 01
High BHA vibrations when drilling with RSS in abrasive formations
- 02
Stick-Slip with sharp torque spikes
- 03
Protect MWD/LWD from shock and vibration loads
- 04
Drilling with PDC bits where cutter chipping is a risk
